A extended voyage around Australia is being halted days after the tragic passing of an elderly woman who was left behind by the ship on a distant island.

The elderly woman had been walking on Lizard Island with fellow passengers from the vessel, but parted ways from the party for a pause. The ship departed without her and came back after some time after the ship staff became aware the passenger was missing.

An extensive rescue mission discovered her body the next day.

Investigative bodies are examining the incident, in coordination with investigators and the state coroner.

Chief Executive of the shipping company announced that travelers and crew on the vessel were notified that the rest of the journey had been cancelled due to the "unfortunate death and previous technical problems".
